I’m off to a big family wedding for a few days–a bittersweet event as the mother of the bride passed quite suddenly about two months ago. I’ll convey best wishes to everyone. Meanwhile, as I sat in bed and waited for sleep to come, a thought came to me. You know how, in big extended families, there’s always one relative, a ne’er-do-well brother in law or uncle, who’s full of revolutionary dreams and theories, full of both great optimism and great cynicism?
