The three jailed for refusing to cooperate with a federal grand jury
I recently wrote about Leah Plante, one of the three anarchists recently locked in federal prison for refusing to talk to a grand jury about Occupy. I’m pleased to report that Leah was just freed. I’m chagrined to report that I’ve given short shrift to the two people arrested before her for the same ‘crime’ of non-cooperation with a Seattle grand jury’s fishing expedition. Matt Duran and Katherine ‘KteeO’ Olejnik were both sent to prison for refusing to talk to a grand jury about the Occupy Portland movement and the Seattle Occupy May Day protests. There’s an article about the government’s case here. and another one here.
This is a good primer on the prisoners and their own words about what they’re doing.
You can send them letters of support here:

Send them stuff to read, stuff to encourage them, stuff that will help them pass the time. Remember–if you’re in the movement, it could’ve been you sitting in a federal lockup. And if you’re part of the Occupy Portland support group for these nice folks, I’d love to hear from you.
