It was a big night on Sex and Politics on Friday August 1st 2014. Dan Kinch spoke to Paul Getsos, National Street Organizer for 350.org. 350.org was founded in 2008 by a group of university friends in the U.S. along with author Bill McKibben. Paul has been an organizer for 25 years, and is the founder of Community Voices Heard, an organization of low-income people working on economic justice issues in New York State. He is also the author of Tools for Radical Democracy, a Community Power Building Manual. Today, 350.org works in almost every country in the world on campaigns like fighting coal power plants in India, stopping the Keystone XL pipeline in the U.S, and divesting public institutions everywhere from fossil fuels. Our discussion was on climate change, climate change denial, and 350.org’s role in the upcoming People’s Climate March.
