BP Oil Spill commemoration/performance next Monday!

Dan’s notes:

I will be performing a really new monologue at this event, during which I might (or I might not) blow blues harmonica. The basis of my play–imagine the Seventh Seal if they cast Jimmy Buffett instead of Max Von Sydow and re-imagined it as a Harold Ramis comedy. check out the events page on Facebook.

Monday April 20th marks the 5 year memorial of the BP Drilling Disaster. A group of NYC based Gulf Coast activists are joining in solidarity with the people of the Gulf– from Texas to Florida– who experienced the tragic events of the BP Oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Our goal is to help raise awareness about the continuing ecological and economic crisis in the Gulf and to commemorate the 11 men who were killed in the rig explosion, along with the countless citizens & non human Gulf inhabitants who are still suffering from the after-effects of the worst man-made oil spill disaster in history.

The evening will feature musicians from the Gulf, environmental visual art in the gallery, and several environmental theatrical pieces & poetry throughout the night.
