Hiya. My forays into the Fringe business of late have not been fun. I don’t want to denigrate the people I’ve worked with, but beyond what I feel about the Fringe business (maybe I’m not cut out for it) it isn’t getting my work circulated. So it has occurred to me that my best hope is to create video versions of my solo work in the hope that people will see it online. I’m already aware that some of my plays have done quite well. My last look at the first video of my play HOW TO STOP THE EMPIRE WHILE KEEPING YOUR DAY JOB has amassed a minimum of 13,000 hits. That all happened without me traveling to remote places to perform.
I have a Youtube page called BROOKLYN CULTURE JAMMERS. If you have trouble finding it, you can hit this URL:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbFXmQXpR9WjjZ5bdq85jEQ
Currently, the site has two short excerpts of my play PLANET PHUCKETT!! I think you might find the ‘methane’ piece of interest to you if you’re following climate issues. But if you drop by, I’d like you to click the ‘subscribe’ button. Once I pass a certain number of subscribers, I can start monetizing my content. My goal here is to get enough subscribers to put up a FREE link to my play of the same name. And if I continue to get hits, my longer term plans are to mount some of my other solo work up there. I have two plays about 9/11 (one of which is autobiographical) and I’d like to put it on video.
Anway, cruise past my page and click on ‘subscribe’. I promise you I won’t overwhelm with junk email. I did find it funny when Chase thought to advertise on HOW TO STOP THE EMPIRE several years ago. FWIW, I think it’s good to waste their advertising dollars.
Help me out, Kay?
PS: if you’re producing a fringe fest, this is what my work looks like.
