So my angst was poked today by a question on Quora, where I spend entirely too much time– If the GOP allegedly backs the blue, then why did they vote down the commission that would have physically backed the blue?

Which twigged the question–was Blue Lives matter protesting in DC when the GOP voted down the commission? Where are they anyway? Over the past two weeks, I have been out in the car several times and I’ve seen plenty of Blue Lives Matter bumper stickers in the rightwing parts of NY and NJ. But seriously–when the ‘rubber meets the road’ as advertisers used to say– where are the supporters? If Blue Lives matter when police are killed or injured by people of color, shouldn’t it matter when police are killed, injured or even threatened by the (largely white) groups like the militias? https://brooklynculturejammers.com/2014/12/22/police-and-the-canary-in-the-coal-mine/

And because I think conspiratorially pretty often, My mind says –‘the GOP doesn’t back the blue. It backs the whites, specifically white supremacists.’ You don’t see ‘blue lives matter’ signs and protesters when a cop is a victim of a white supremacist shooting or attack. Where were the Blue Lives Mattter idiots when a police officer named Brian Sicknick was killed and several injured on 1/6? And where are they now?

I wrote about this several years ago, when the Bundy ranch ‘militia’ were putting cops in the crosshairs and nobody from officialdom was slapping handcuffs on the perps. It was about the same time when a militia group gunman ‘assassinated’ a Pennsylvania state trooper Corporal Bryon K. The GOP supports the police and groups like BLUE LIVES MATTER when it serves their electoral purposes. And the Trump followers didn’t drop their allegiance to the GOP after the 1/6 events.

For me, this is another argument for not letting the GOP run things. It’s also about holding groups like Blue Lives matter responsible for their hypocrisy.
